All projects start with rough sawn boards. This oak will be dressed up so it is flat and the correct thickness.
Greg uses a bandsaw to rough cut the shape for the head of the signage.
The shapes are glued together to achieve the desired thickness. There are three signs in production.
Once glued up, the pieces need cleaned off ready to be cut to an exact shape with a router and template.
A router is used to create a profile.
It never hurts to label your pieces so they go in the way intended!
Square peg + round hole + hammer = round peg.
Cleaning up the pegs after they have been glued and hammered into the posts.
Two oak signage frames awaiting their printed boards. They are finished in a hard wearing UV resistant oil.
